Rent Space at HFC

HFC encompasses nearly 1 million square feet of property between our two campuses in Dearborn, MI. As active participants of the community, the College is committed to environmental stewardship. Our rental facilities are accessible and convenient. They are designed for meetings, seminars and conferences that accommodate groups of 10 to 350.

HFC's Facilities Services Department is responsible for expanding, upgrading, and maintaining all of HFC's physical infrastructure, and keeping our physical spaces safe for use. As caretakers of the College's campuses, Facilities Services staff are responsible for housekeeping, building infrastructure, mechanical and electrical systems, grounds and facility rentals. We operate seven days a week. We are here to serve you.

Facilities Use, Policies and Regulations

To schedule the use of any HFC facility please complete the online Application for Facility Usage as far in advance as possible. All applications must be filled out completely. Incomplete applications will delay processing. If you need assistance you may contact the Facilities Services (FS) office at 313-845-6320 or email facilities@hfcc.edu.

The Application for Facility Usage must identify a person in charge (PIC), along with their current address and phone number. All setups must be requested in advance. The PIC must be accessible (via email, phone, or face-to-face) at least a week prior to the event to confirm scheduling details or HFC reserves the right to cancel said event. The PIC must also be present during the specified event on the application.

Non-profit status will be verified before non-profit rental rates are applied.

FS will confirm that the facility you are requesting is available and that the request fits within acceptable parameters of usage. If so, FS will notify you that a permit will be issued upon receipt of payment for assigned costs. Costs are assigned according to a rate schedule intended to reimburse HFC for costs associated with making the facility available to users. FS will help you determine if services (set-up, audio-visual, security, food service) are required for your event. If the facility is not available, FS will contact you to discuss alternatives.

Facility use payment must be paid in full two weeks prior to the event date. If you must cancel your event, please call FS immediately. A refund of the facility use payment will be issued if cancellation notice is made at least 14 days prior to the event.

All furniture and audio-visual set-ups must be performed by HFC staff. Event participants/guests are not allowed to do set-ups or move any furniture.

In the event that the use of HFC property results in actual increased costs to HFC (such as set-up, maintenance, repair of damaged furniture, walls, equipment, cleanup, etc.), the cost will be billed back to the PIC.

No pins, tacks or tape may be placed on walls, ceiling, woodwork, doors or windows. Doorways, hallways, corridors, staircases and fire exits cannot be blocked or obstructed.

HFC is not responsible for loss of any materials, gifts, favors or other items left in the building. HFC is a smoke-free campus.

All special parking requests must be included on your application. You will be notified if your request has been approved along with details of where to park. If not approved, participants of your event can park among the general college population in any of the student parking lots (see map).
