How to find the information to put in the fields above:
Are you in-district or out-of-district? Find out by looking for your home on this map. HFC shares the Dearborn School District boundaries including Dearborn, Edsel Ford, and Fordson high schools.
How many credit hours will you take at the 100 or 200 level? (Most classes fit this category. Part-time students tend to take 6 or 9 credit hours per semester. Full-time students tend to take 12 or 15 credit hours per semester. Talk to an advisor if you want to map out a timeline to complete your degree.)
How many credit hours will you take at the 300 and 400 level? (These classes are upper-level courses, almost all in our Culinary programs.)
Course fees, and inclusive access bookstore fees / charges are not covered by the MI-Reconnect scholarship.
Excess Contact Hour Fees are covered at the in-district rate ($108.00 per excess contact hour)
If you are not yet registered: Find your exact fees for question #4 and question #5 by looking up each specific course by semester: Fall / Winter / Summer.
If you are already registered: You may by find your exact fees by visiting the Student Portal.
Inclusive access bookstore fees / charges are not covered by the MI-Reconnect scholarship.
Prices for textbooks vary quite a bit. In some classes, Open Educational Resources (OERs) are used and are free or very inexpensive. In other classes, textbooks can vary from less than $100 to several hundred dollars each. You may also choose to rent textbooks, which can significantly reduce your costs. You can get some idea of the cost of textbooks in a specific course by using the "compare" tool at the HFC College Store website. Choose a term, a course, and a section to test-compare textbook costs. NOTE that instructors choose their own textbooks, so your costs may vary significantly by instructor.
NOTE: Your final total may be less than the calculations above if you qualify for additional forms of financial aid.
Pell Grant, as well as other tuition-restricted offers will reduce your final Reconnect or F4F scholarship funding amount.
You may use any additional financial aid offers to help cover your remaining balance.
