Samantha Elliott, M.A.
Sam earned her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Michigan-Dearborn where she majored in History and Journalism, while obtaining a Secondary Teaching Certificate in Social Studies with a minor in Political Science. She was a middle school Social Studies and Journalism teacher for 7 years and eventually went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids. While spending a year in New Orleans, Sam started working as an Academic Advisor at Delgado Community College- City Park Campus and fell in love with still being able to help students outside of the classroom teaching capacity. She values providing a safe space for students to feel comfortable being themselves while finding their perfect fit for their talents and interests.
Outside of HFC, Sam enjoys writing and freelances high school sports for The News Herald and the Press and Guide. In her free time, she likes to read and try out new foods.
