DeJanae Hayes, M.A.

DeJanae’s higher education experience consist of advising and student development, retention initiatives, recruitment, nursing admissions, and teaching. She has worked for 4-year institutions in various states including Texas Woman’s University in Houston, TX, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Charlotte, NC. She is passionate about student development and guiding students to achieve their goals and aspirations.

DeJanae graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor’s degree in public administration and nonprofit in 2015. A few years later, she graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a master’s degree in educational leadership higher education student affairs and a graduate certification in academic advising in 2018.

She thoroughly enjoys spending time with her dog, online shopping, traveling, reading fictional books, binge-watching shows or documentaries, painting, and fall/winter outdoor activities.

She excited to serve our HFC students!
