Summer study programs (paid) that can change your life!

For HFC students looking for ways to build your academic skills this summer while being paid or earning college credit(s), the HFC Transfer Bridges to the Humanities (TB2H) program is for you.
It's time to apply for upcoming summer hands-on learning opportunities. You do not need to be part of the TB2H program to apply, just follow the links below.
UROP at U-M -- undergraduate research!
The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP), part of the Community College Summer Fellowship Program at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, offers a 10-week paid summer fellowship for students currently enrolled in any Michigan community college who are interested in continuing their academic careers at a four-year university.
You can earn between $3,000 and $7,000 (including a housing stipend if needed). UROP will give you research experience, meet likeminded students and professors, and build your academic skills. You will learn in Ann Arbor or online.
Research projects are available in social sciences, humanities, engineering, health sciences, physical sciences, natural and environmental sciences, and more.
UROP seeks to attract a diverse student population, including women and historically underrepresented students, first generation college students, students from low-income backgrounds, and veterans. You do not need to have any prior research experience to be in this program. The 2025 program runs from Tuesday, May 27, through Friday, August 1.

The Great Lakes Arts, Cultures, and Environments (GLACE) fellowship offers you an opportunity to earn U-M credit(s) through a fully-funded, four-week program in July while living in Northern Michigan at the University of Michigan Biological Station. You will join a small cohort of students who will work closely with faculty teaching interconnected, two-credit courses in topics such as in English, anthropology, natural history, or American culture.
The GLACE experience includes creative writing, hiking, swimming, and taking trips to places of natural and cultural interest in and around the tip of the "mitten." You will live and work alongside fellow students and faculty researchers in microbiology, climatology, geology, and ecology. GLACE adds a humanistic dimension to the cross-disciplinary interactions that have long been strengths of UMBS, fostering a greater understanding of the natural world.
