Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Winter 2025 induction ceremony

RSVP for this event by April 18 so we can plan food
The HFC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) (Alpha Xi Mu), the international honor society for community college students, will host its induction ceremony to publicly welcome its new members on Friday, April 25, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. (inductees should arrive by 5:00 p.m.) in the Forfa Auditorium of the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center (ASCC) (Building L on the main campus).
Dearborn Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud will deliver the keynote address. Other speakers include:
- HFC President Russ Kavalhuna
- HFC Vice President of Student Affairs Holly Diamond
“This event is open to all HFC PTK members,” said PTK faculty advisor Chardin Claybourne. “If you have not been inducted, we invite you to participate in the ceremony. If you have already been inducted, we invite you to attend and support your fellow PTK members.”
PTK membership requirements
PTK’s high standards are based on the attributes of community service, leadership, fellowship, and scholarship. Membership requirements include:
- Being enrolled in good standing at HFC
- An overall GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Completion of a minimum of 12 credits
Many PTK members have successfully transferred to four-year colleges and universities over the years. They have gone on to major leadership roles at both the national and international levels. PTK also offers opportunities to apply for PTK and non-PTK student scholarships.
All high-academic achieving students at HFC are invited to consider membership in PTK. You do not need to be a member of the Henry Ford II Honors Program to be a member of PTK, although many honors students are members.
RSVP by April 18
Dinner will be served at the PTK induction ceremony. To ensure an accurate headcount, the deadline to RSVP is Friday, April 18 (see link above).
