The HFC Student Council is seeking candidates for the 2025-26 academic year. The application period is from Monday, February 17, through Wednesday, February 26.

The Student Council is seeking energetic students who want to lead and serve. Executive and general council seats are available.

The purpose of Student Council is:

  • To enhance the quality of student life through effective representation of the HFC student body.
  • To provide an organized means of expression for HFC students.
  • To represent the students’ perspective on various College committees as they pertain to the students’ interests.

Applications can be completed in-person by visiting the Office of Student Activities (Room M-105), located in the John McDonald Student and Culinary Arts Center (Building M on the main campus).

Student Council criteria

The requirements for candidates are:

  • Must have a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 2.5.
  • Cannot be a member of the HFC Board of Trustees, the College Alumni Association, the College Foundation, or The Mirror News.

If elected, Student Council members must:

  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Complete a minimum of six credits each semester.
  • Maintain integrity and comply with the HFC Student Code of Conduct.
  • Serve on a College committee.

Elections will take place online March 24-28

Candidates may begin your campaigns only after your applications have been received and you have been notified of your eligibility status by the Office of Student Activities.

The elections will be conducted online from Monday, March 24, through Friday, March 28. All HFC students are eligible to vote.
