Globe Fest returns to HFC

For the first time since 2019, the HFC Council of World Cultures is proud to announce that Globe Fest, a multicultural event celebrating the international experience, will return on Wednesday, April 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the John McDonald Student and Culinary Arts Center (Building M on the main campus).
Globe Fest is a celebration of world cultures, featuring delicious ethnic cuisines, a variety of great entertainment, and enriching literature showcasing selected countries. The event is designed to bring together the campus community and promote awareness and appreciation of multiple cultures.
“The CWC is excited about Globe Fest’s return! It’s a wonderful event for the campus community and the community at large to come together, enjoy, and learn about different cultures. As an educational institution, it is essential to acknowledge and highlight cultural diversity for greater understanding of each other. Recognizing and valuing the existence of various cultures is vital as we continue to work and live together. With the 2025 event, we hope to regain momentum and return to our annual schedule of celebrating all people and their traditions,” said Director of Student Activities Dr. Cassandra Fluker.
This year, the selected cultures are from Albania, Japan, Mexico, and Palestine. Food will be available for purchase at $5 per ticket (one ticket per food station). All proceeds will benefit the International Student Scholarship.
Globe Fest is sponsored by the CWC and coordinated by HFC student clubs:
- All Around Arts Association
- The Arab Student Union
- The International Student Organization
- Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) (Alpha Xi Mu)
Everyone is welcome. Food tickets are $5, but otherwise Globe Fest is free. For more information, please contact the Office of Student Activities at (313) 845-9865.
