Online Automotive Cybersecurity Training program starts March 17

HFC and Auto-ISAC have teamed up to offer a new Automotive Cybersecurity Training (ACT) program, which is a series of three industry-driven courses designed to help you master the essentials of automotive cybersecurity and master the technology powering today’s vehicles.

As vehicles get smarter, they become more vulnerable to cyber threats. The ACT program teaches you the necessary skills to defend against those threats. ACT courses cover the fundamentals, real-world threats, risk management, and more.

Through the ACT program, you will learn:

  • Core concepts of automotive cybersecurity
  • Cyber threats and attack surfaces in vehicles
  • Tools and techniques for vehicle network protection
  • Real-world case studies and response strategies

ACT courses

The ACT courses are $500 per course and are virtual (online). You will earn a certificate of completion upon finishing the ACT program.

WFPD 301: Cyber Security Basics: In this course, you will establish a comprehensive understanding of vehicle cybersecurity essentials, including:

  • Terminology and principles
  • Attacks, threats, and vulnerabilities
  • Operations security, confidentiality, and risk management
  • Introduction to standards like ISO/SAE 21434

This course runs from Monday, March 17, through Sunday, May 11.

WFPD 302: Secure Operations Management: In this course, you will learn threat detection, risk analysis, and incident response within a secure automotive ecosystem, including:

  • Threat detection and risk management
  • Incident response management
  • Implementing industry best practices

This course runs during the Summer 2025 semester, which begins May 13.

WFPD 303: Secure Engineering: In this course, you will understand vehicle communications and networks from a cybersecurity perspective, including:
