“These young men showed heart and determination, beating their seeds, and avenging tough losses from earlier in the season at the National Junior College Athletic Association Great Lakes District Championship on February 23,” said HFC Athletic Director Rochelle Taylor. “The journey isn’t over. Next stop: the NJCAA Championships in Iowa!”
Coach Grant MacKenzie is proud of his team.
“These young men fought through adversity, and that mindset will help them succeed throughout their lives,” said MacKenzie. “A dynamic team isn’t just about talent. It’s about trust, resilience, and a shared commitment to pushing each other beyond their limits. When everyone buys in, success takes care of itself. That’s how we’ve built a program with seven NJCAA national qualifiers this year.”
