3 HFC wrestlers earn NJCAA national rankings
Three members of the HFC wrestling team recently earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rankings.
These three wrestlers include:
- Sophomore Jacob Navarro (197 lbs.), of Brownstown, who ranked 6th.
- Sophomore Jacob Campbell (125 lbs.), of Allen Park, who ranked 10th.
- Sophomore Kyle Wilson (141 lbs.), of Westland, who ranked 12th.
These three wrestlers also advanced to the NJCAA Wrestling Championship during the 2023-24 season.
Coach Grant MacKenzie expressed his pride in his athletes.
“Campbell, Navarro, and Wilson are all standout NJCAA wrestlers, recognized not only for their skills on the mat but also for their impressive work ethic, time management, and academic achievements,” said MacKenzie. “Balancing the demands of rigorous training with academic responsibilities is no easy feat, yet these athletes have demonstrated exceptional dedication. Their ability to manage time efficiently and maintain high academic standards speaks volumes about their commitment to personal and athletic growth.”
