HFC will host MAT² Applicant Interview Day and Parent Information Session on Saturday, April 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the M-TEC Building on the HFC East Campus, 3601 Schaefer Rd. in Dearborn.

At this event, students will:

  • Learn about the benefits of an “earn while you learn” apprenticeship program.
  • Discover opportunities at MAT² Network Companies.
  • Find out about the apprenticeship schedule and curriculum.
  • Interview for potential apprenticeship opportunities scheduled to start in Fall 2024.

Agenda

  • 9:30 to 10:00 a.m.: Arrive and check in
  • 10:00 to 10:05 a.m.: Welcome by Myriam Klein of the MAT² Apprenticeship Program
  • 10:05 to 10:40 a.m.: Company highlights and short presentations.
  • 10:50 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.: Interviews and parent information session.

Bring several copies of your résumé

Candidates: Business formal or business casual attire is recommended. Please bring several copies of your résumé. You will have interviews lasting approximately between 6-10 minutes with:

Parents: There will be an “Introduction to the MAT² Apprenticeship Program” information session.

What is MAT²?

Managed by the German American Chamber of Congress of the Midwest, Inc. since 2019, HFC offers students the opportunity through the Michigan Advanced Technician Training (MAT²) program to earn a fully-funded (free) associate degree in:

  • Mechatronics, or
  • Computer Numerical Control (CNC)

MAT² is an industry-driven program in which sponsoring companies partner with HFC to cultivate talent and ensure a globally competitive workforce. Sponsoring companies help train and employ MAT² students as they pursue their associate degree at HFC. The College provides the classroom instruction, practical training, and on-the-job experience needed to ensure highly-skilled, readily employable graduates.
