HFC Women’s Basketball Recruitment Day: college students and high school seniors invited

The HFC women’s basketball team team will host an open Recruitment Day for future Hawks who want to meet the coach and other athletes and show their hoops skills on Tuesday, February 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

10:00 a.m. start

The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Community Rooms of the HFC Welcome Center (Building WC on the main campus). There will be a presentation from representatives in Admissions and Recruiting, a tour of the HFC campus, presentations from HFC Athletics, and lunch.

1:00 p.m. tryout

After lunch (about 1:00 p.m.), all prospective student-athletes will head to the gymnasium of the Athletic Memorial Building (Building H on the main campus) for basketball drills and tryouts.

What to bring

Athletes will need to bring workout clothes, basketball shoes, and an enthusiastic attitude to participate in Recruitment Day.

“Join us on Recruitment Day to discover how we can elevate your basketball career, improve your game by fostering a supportive community that values communication, hard work, and the pursuit of championship success,” said HFC Athletic Director Rochelle Taylor.

The Women’s Basketball team is is led by its energetic and experienced new coach Rashaun “Shaunie” Hankins.

“Together, we aim to foster a sisterhood of athletes who inspire, support, and celebrate each other’s success,” said Hankins.

Recruitment Day is free and open to college-age women, including high school seniors, who are interested in playing basketball in the 2024-25 season. The season begins in Fall 2024.
