HFC Counseling will host a group session on Wednesday, December 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room A-121 of the Learning Success Center (Building A on the main campus) to talk about skills for coping with stress.

These group sessions are a new teaching format counselors will use to help you gain a better understanding and learn new skills. These issues include but are not limited to coping, setting boundaries, grieving, and self-care.

The first group session will focus on coping with stress, and it will teach you skills that will help you manage your life issues. Coping has been defined as the thoughts and behaviors needed to manage internal and external stressors. One of the exercises will help you identify your current level of coping, which will allow the facilitators, Dr. Brenda Hildreth and Amy Ducklow, to meet you where you are.

“This is a timely topic as we are approaching the holiday season and finals,” said Hildreth. “We encourage all students to attend.”
