Patti Flogaus will serve as Interim Executive Assistant to President Kavalhuna
F ollowing the retirement of HFC Executive Assistant to the President Kathy Dimitriou, long-time HFC employee Patti Flogaus will serve as the Interim Executive Assistant to the President.
"Patti has been a strong contributor at the College for many years, and she is a trusted teammate to all who have had the pleasure of working with her,” said HFC President Russ Kavalhuna. “She has periodically provided assistance to my office and the Board of Trustees during periods when Kathy was out of the office. The Board, the Cabinet, and I look forward to working with her in the coming months as we continue to evaluate the best strategy for the President’s Office to support the College and advance student success.”
The President’s Office will evaluate strategic needs and executive support needs in the coming months, and will then determine future staffing.
While serving the President’s Office, Flogaus will continue to serve in her role as Special Assistant to Vice President of Student Affairs Holly Diamond.
“Kathy will be a tough act to follow, but she has been more than gracious in getting me up to speed on everything,” said Flogaus. “It is an honor to serve in the President’s Office, and I am looking forward to working with Russ and will do my best to meet the high bar that Kathy has set.”

Dimitriou and Flogaus have worked together since 2007. She is glad that Flogaus will be taking on duties in the president's office.
“I am very happy knowing that Patti Flogaus will be working in the President’s Office,” said Dimitriou. “From the time I met Patti, I have found her to be a very kind, caring, hardworking, and extremely competent coworker. It eases my mind knowing that Patti will be taking my place for the next several months.”
