HFC softball team wins post-season awards and honors
Six members of the HFC softball team – which finished third in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Eastern Conference for the 2022-23 season – earned post-season awards and honors.
“The softball team had a great season on the field this year, and these honors reflect that success,” said HFC Athletic Director Rochelle Taylor.
The softball players who were honored include:
Lauren Gannon: The Carleton Airport High School alumna was named All MCCAA and MCCAA First Team All-Eastern Conference.
Mily Garcia: The Detroit Western International High School alumna was named MCCAA Second Team All-Eastern Conference.
Caroline O’Donohue: The Ann Arbor-based Father Gabriel Richard High School alumna was named MCCAA Second Team All-Eastern Conference.
Jada Oliver: The Detroit Cass Technical High School alumna was named MCCAA Second Team All-Eastern Conference.
Sydney Pease:: The Pinckney High School alumna was named MCCAA Second Team All-Eastern Conference.
Karlee Plensdorf: The Carleton Airport High School alumna was named MCCAA Second Team All-Eastern Conference.
"I’m not surprised these young women earned these awards and accolades because I saw their dedication each and every day throughout the school year,” said Coach Steve Brown. “I’m proud of them for their commitment to their education and their commitment on the field. I can’t ask for anything more. As a coach, that’s very rewarding.”
