28th Annual President’s Collage Concert
The HFC Music department will present the 28th President’s Collage Concert on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Michael A. Guido Theater in the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, located at 15801 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn.
The President’s Collage Concert is an annual tradition that began in 1996 with the support of Dr. Andrew A. Mazzara, then-president of HFC. It was founded by HFC music instructor G. Kevin Dewey and the late Rick Goward.
The first President’s Collage Concert was held at Edsel Ford High School. From 1997 to 2001, it was held at Orchestra Hall. The concert moved to its current home at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in 2002.
More than 150 performers
The HFC Music department has continued the tradition of presenting this special evening, which celebrates HFC’s vibrant music program. HFC’s music directors bring together the College’s many choral and instrumental ensembles for a varied and exciting performance.
More than 150 performers will participate in this year’s show. Dewey and HFC Interim Band Director Anthony Lai will conduct several HFC musical ensembles at this year’s Collage Concert:
- Blue Fusion Vocal Jazz Ensemble
- HFC Big Band & Evergreen Blues
- HFC Chorus
- Midnight Blue Vocal Jazz Ensemble
- Metropolitan Symphony Band
- Renaissance Voices
- Studio 110 Big Jazz Band
- Vanguard Voices
Stronger in person
"I'm so excited about our 28th annual President's Collage Concert, particularly because we're really coming back strong after the pandemic, and we are able to feature all our groups earlier in the semester than last year,” said Dewey. “Our audience members will be able to hear their favorite HFC musical ensembles again at a series of spring concerts this year!"
Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center (FCPAC) box office Thursdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and two hours before performances through intermission.
