Camp College promotion

Location: Henry Ford Campus, Building L

The Michigan Association for College Admission Counseling (MACAC) and Henry Ford College are pleased to present Camp College.

Camp College is a fun, interactive college planning workshop for high school students! The program is designed to help students prepare for a successful start in college. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Choosing a college can be an overwhelming process, so many wonderful choices are out there! This session will cover your college options, importance of self-awareness and what factors to consider when making your decision.

How to Find Your Why: Choosing the Right Post-Secondary Path, Rosenau Room B
Finding the right path after high school can be a challenge, so figuring out your “Why” can help you find your “How.” This session focuses on tips and tricks for post-secondary decision-making, from programs of study to career pathways and beyond.

Mental Health & The College Transition, Rosenau Room C
Preparing for college can bring forth a lot of emotions and mental health concerns. This conversation will discuss key mental health considerations and help students develop healthy coping strategies.

Finding Your Resources in College, Berry Auditorium
Whether it’s tutoring, advising or friends, every student needs support in college. This session will highlight ways students can find different types of support and create connections at their college, including campus resources and student life.

Maurice Pearson

Maurice Pearson

Maurice "Moe" Pearson is the Manager of Player and Alumni Relations for the Detroit Lions. Maurice has been with the Detroit Lions for six years (7 seasons). In his current role, he enjoys mentoring the players, as well as the youth in the Metro Detroit area. Maurice Pearson is a native of Detroit. His alma mater is Redford High School.

Maurice was a soldier for the United States Army, serving in Pakistan and Iraq, directly after 9/11. He went on to earn his bachelor's and master’s degrees in criminal justice. He enjoys running, reading, and vacationing abroad.
