Two members of the HFC Wrestling Team – Jager Kwiatkowski and Xavier Byrne – qualify for the 2023 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Wrestling Championships, which will be held in Council Bluffs, IA on Friday, March 3, and Saturday, March 4.

Kwiatkowski, a sophomore from Livonia weighing in at 141 lbs., placed first in the Great Lakes District Tournament on Feb. 18 to advance to the nationals. Byrne, a freshman from Wyandotte weighting in at 157 lbs., placed fourth to qualify for the nationals.

“Jager and Xavier are ready for the championships in Iowa,” said Coach Grant MacKenzie. “Both wrestlers put in a tremendous amount of effort this season and it paid off at our regional qualifier.”
