The HFC Support Staff Association Social Committee will host the 5th annual Trunk or Treat event on Friday, Oct. 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
This year's event will take place at Hype Athletics, 23302 W Warren St, Dearborn Heights.
Trunk or Treat is a family-friendly event where volunteers decorate their cars for Halloween, bring a trunk full of candy to hand out, and gather in a parking lot for children to safely "trick or treat" from car to car. The adults get to socialize while seeing all the cool costumes.
You have options: Check out the info below to volunteer, donate, or participate!
For questions or more information, contact Leslie Windless at lwindless@hfcc.edu.

To make this year’s Trunk or Treat a success, we need “trunkers” and volunteers. Trunkers will decorate their vehicles and pass out treats to the trick-or-treaters. You will need to bring enough items for about 400 children. There will be prizes for the most creative trunks/booths. This year, the public will choose the winner.
There are several other ways to volunteer to help with this event, including:
- Art assistants
- Car attendants
- Game attendants
- Candy runners
- Bathroom/hallway attendants
How to donate candy, prizes, or funds!
We need more donations than ever this year! There are several ways that you can donate to this event.
Candy: We need lots of candy! Candy donations can be dropped off at two locations on the main campus:
- Campus Safety (Bldg. N): Contact Sarah Sullivan at stsullivan@hfcc.edu to coordinate a drop-off.
- The first floor of the Welcome Center (Bldg. WC): Contact Connie Holland at cvholland@hfcc.edu to coordinate a drop-off.
Look for decorated boxes at both locations for no-contact drop-offs.
Prizes: We are accepting prizes for best trunk, costume, and game winners.
Monetary Donations: We are accepting gifts of funds.
- PayPal is our preferred method for receiving monetary donations via supportstaffassn@hfcc.edu.
- Cash or checks can be submitted in care of SSA Treasurer Joni Morris. Contact Joni at jlmorris8@hfcc.edu for questions or more information.
Sign up to attend the event!
This event is FREE and open to the public. Anyone can attend or volunteer for this event.
Even though this event is free, we do ask that you register to attend.
