Sign up for your department to participate in Welcome Back Days in September!

The HFC Student Activities office is planning Welcome Back Days (scheduled for the week of Sept. 19) for the Fall 2022 Semester.

The purpose of Welcome Back Days is to introduce students to the HFC programs and services that can help ensure their success while studying at HFC and afterward. We also want students to have fun through activities and meaningful experiences.

This year’s Welcome Back Days will be held on campus with a few online activities. Students were polled before the end of the Winter 2022 semester and told us that they prefer on-campus activities. HFC Student Activities team members Cassandra Fluker and Mandy Earl are planning primarily in-person activities to give students a more engaging college experience.

Your department is invited to participate!

Departments across campus are invited to participate in Welcome Back Days on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Student & Culinary Arts Center (Bldg. M) to meet students and help them learn how to make the most of programs and services offered at the College.

Would you like to host a table? Offer a service? Provide a game or activity? Get creative -- students will appreciate it!

Reach out to Cassandra Fluker so she can organize all the events and activities. Please reserve a table and consider an outdoor set-up if the weather is nice.

Schedule of activities

Because we are in an Election Year, this year's Welcome Back Days’ primary theme will be Get Out the Vote. We will encourage students to register to vote and exercise their right to vote on Election Day, which is Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Additional activities scheduled for Welcome Back Days to date:

Monday, Sept. 19 (Constitution Day Observance)

  • Kahoot Game: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Student Center

Tuesday, Sept. 20 (National Voter Registration Day)

  • In-person Activities with University of Michigan-Dearborn: 3:00 p.m. (location TBA)

Wednesday, Sept. 21

  • Student Clubs Fair and Student Services (in-person): 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Student Center and outside
  • Caricaturist Artist (online): 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

There is room for your department to participate!

We will release additional information as we get closer to the Fall 2022 semester. Please consider participating, to make the student experience robust and varied.
