“Last year was especially difficult for the student staff of The Mirror News having to go 100 percent virtual and conducting interviews and covering events remotely,” said English professor/faculty advisor Dr. Peter Kim. “For them to have transitioned to online reporting well enough to be awarded third place for online newspaper – a category that included four-year colleges and universities – shows how hard they worked. I am overjoyed that the Michigan Collegiate Press Association recognized the excellence of all The Mirror News staff, particularly the talents and growth of writers like Atika, Tyler, Yasmeen and Carrie. I am so proud of all the students who share their time and talents with The Mirror News.”
