All HFC students, faculty, administrators, and community partners (non-partisan) are invited to the first Midwest Student Voting Summit on Friday, March 25, from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. This will be a virtual event.

Campus Vote Project (CVP) – a non-partisan national nonprofit organization – is hosting this Summit, which includes educational institutions from 13 Midwestern states.

Along with regional sessions on student voting topics, the Michigan Secretary of State is partnering with Campus Vote Project on a Michigan session aimed to bring together college communities from around the state. Learn more about action planning and how to get students engaged for the midterm elections next November. College students voted in historic levels in the 2018 midterm elections. This Summit will focus on raising those levels again.

Additionally, CVP, in partnership with the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, offers the Voter Friendly Campus designation, which focuses on institutionalizing civic engagement and student voting by creating a campus action plan for the 2022 elections. The Voter Friendly Campus Statement of Interest was due Feb. 15, but late submissions will be considered.
