The following message is from HFC Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Michael Nealon.

Dear Colleagues:

I wish to express my thanks to each and every one of you for the professionalism, resilience, compassion, and creativity that you continue to bring to our shared commitments to student success at Henry Ford College!

Many have asked for guidance regarding teaching classes should COVID-related illness or quarantine prohibit them from meeting on-campus, face-to-face sections. With collaboration and input from 1650 and AFO leadership, Cabinet members, Human Resources, the HFC Legal Office, and members of the Academic Affairs Leadership Council, we have prepared the attached “Guidelines Regarding Missing Classes Due to COVID-related Illness or Quarantine".

The information presented in this document is intended as suggestions and options that faculty may wish to consider for themselves, their classes, and their students. We sincerely hope that this will be helpful to you. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to address them with your Dean, Associate Dean, or Department Chair. I am also happy to meet with you if I can be of further assistance. I very much appreciate our support for one another and for our students as we navigate these challenging and uncertain times!

Be safe and be well,

Michael Nealon
