HFC is hosting a Domestic Violence Awareness 101 training workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. First Step, a non-profit working to eliminate domestic and sexual violence in Michigan, will lead a training session on domestic violence. Topics to be covered include:
- Intimate partner violence
- Forms of abuse
- Traits of an abuser
- Facts vs. myths
- Why survivors may stay in or go back to an abusive relationship

The HFC Student Conduct and Compliance Office is sponsoring this event. HFC Campus Safety, the HFC Student Activities office, and the HFC Counseling office are co-sponsors.
