The Detroit Public Library and the League of Women Voters (LWV) of Detroit will co-host the presentation, “Three Marches, Two Sisters, One Bridge” on Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. We encourage you to attend this free event, which will be online.

Charles Thomas, Jr. will serve as the moderator. His two aunts (the eponymous sisters) will speak about their experiences as teenage girls marching for the right to vote in 1965. Thomas and his two aunts have continued to be active supporters of the right to vote. They will also present ideas to engage inactive voters to vote in the next election and future elections.
