Abigail's Pride founder Abigail Rowe

Abigail E. Rowe is a student at Brandon High School in Ortonville (in Oakland County). She has founded Abigail’s Pride, a non-profit organization whose mission is to expand and deepen the education and support of LGBTQ+ families and allies within her community.

Rowe will speak at HFC on Thursday, April 28, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Berry Amphitheater on the first floor of the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center (ASCC) on the main campus. The public is invited.

Rowe is a senior Girl Scout in her community. She has committed to earning her Gold Award in 2022 by serving her community, highlighting inclusion and diversity. She has recognized the difficulties youth in many communities face to feel comfortable with their identity or sexual orientation. With support from community members, teachers, business owners, and local officials, Rowe is planning her first annual pride extravaganza in her hometown later this year.

This event is sponsored by SAGA, and is one of several HFC is holding from now until the end of the month in celebration of Campus Pride Month.
