“In This Together”: HFC celebrates NJCAA Day Oct. 21

On Thursday, Oct. 21, HFC will join with more than 500 colleges across the nation to celebrate the 5th annual National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Day.

The NJCAA will celebrate opportunity, history, and the unity of member colleges, student-athletes, administrators, alumni, and fans. The association will highlight its long-standing traditions and showcase how NJCAA members support student-athlete success on and around campus.

This year’s theme, “In This Together,” will center around the upcoming 50th anniversary of Title IX; equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts; sportsmanship; and NJCAA pride. Since its inception in 2016, NJCAA Day has sought to encourage collaboration, uniting the past, present, and future of those who have passed through.

A rich history - first to establish a women's division

As the first athletic association to establish a women's division in college athletics, the NJCAA has a rich history in pioneering new and exciting opportunities for student-athletes and member colleges all over the nation. Regardless of background and circumstance, each part of the NJCAA offers value and purpose. The NJCAA encourages everyone to take to social media on #NJCAADay to experience the day-long celebration of the association and its members.

"The NJCAA is unlike any other organization due to its makeup and culture of togetherness everywhere you look," said NJCCA President and CEO Dr. Christopher Parker. "Each October, we look forward to celebrating NJCAA Day and looking back on history and another year of immeasurable success."

"HFC is proud to be in this together with 524 institutions across the nation,” said HFC Athletic Director Rochelle Taylor. “We support opportunities for all student athletes every day.”
