You have accomplished one of life’s great goals

To all our HFC 2020 graduates:

The day has arrived, and I wish I could share it with you in person. Congratulations on your wonderful accomplishment! You have now completed one of the best things you can ever do for yourself: earn a college degree.

Your Henry Ford College degree is a gateway to many great things in life. This degree will hold meaning throughout your life, whether your next step is to start a new career, advance in your career, or transfer to a university.

I want you to know that I am personally proud of you. I met many students these past two years and am impressed with your dedication, drive, and commitment to a great future for yourself.

Today, I hope you are celebrating this success at home, and looking forward to a time when we can have a public celebration in honor of your hard work leading to this day.

I fully support you and wish you the very best as you move on to the next chapter in your life. Keep in touch. You will always be an HFC Hawk!

Congratulate a Grad graphic

The Winter semester officially ends May 17, and we are beginning the celebration of graduation now!

A few ways you can celebrate the HFC Class of 2020 with us:

  1. Look for our "Congratulate a Grad" graphics on social media, and tag someone you know is graduating.
  2. Use one of our social media graduation frames on Facebook to frame your face as a newly minted Hawk graduate.
  3. Share with us a few lines of your story on social media, and let us know you'd like to be considered for #HawkStrong Stories. We will reach out to graduates to learn more about you, and you may be featured on our our news website, our alumni website, and our Facebook page.
  4. Join the HFC Alumni Association for its benefits and as a way to keep in touch with your fellow Hawks.

Stephanie Arredondo, Clare Durina, Gitty Edri, and Lauren Fisher comprise the first graduating cohort of HFC’s Lactation Consultant Program, a partnership between the College and Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit established in the Fall 2019 Semester.

HawkStrong Army Ranger

Tom Demerly first attended HFC from 1980-83, where he began studying journalism and media arts. Pursuing his interest in military history and intelligence, he enlisted in the U.S. Army before finishing his associate degree. He became a journalist and ultramarathoner. Then he came back to HFC.

As a lifelong Tigers fan, former Hawks pitching ace John Schreiber grew up dreaming of a major league career. Last year, he made his debut as the first Michigan-born player to pitch for the Tigers.
