HFC Student Activities Associate Mandy Earl, coordinator of the Hawks' Nest, wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you for all of the faculty, staff, and students of HFC who donated to the Aug. 26-Sept. 6 food drive. She wanted to extend a special thanks to HFC President Russell Kavalhuna and his wife Courtney for donating food and toiletries to close out the drive last week.
The donations for this drive included:
- 572 pounds of food
- 295 personal care items
- $670 in monetary donations
Since it opened for the semester on Sept. 3, the Hawks' Nest hosted 44 students in the first week alone -- nearly double the number of students it hosted its first week last year.
The Hawks' Nest, in Rm. L-138 of the ASCC (Bldg. L), is open during the Fall 2019 Semester:
- Monday to Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This is one of several food drives that will be held throughout the 2019-20 academic year. For questions or more information about the Hawks' Nest, contact Earl at 313-317-1756 or mlearl1@hfcc.edu.
