Marlene Wojtowicz becomes new Staff Council chair at HFC

Release Date

School of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Professional Development (BEPD) Division Secretary Marlene Wojtowicz recently became the new Staff Council chair at HFC, replacing HFC Buyer Associate Patty Sellers, who retired Jan. 31.

The Staff Council was created in 1997. It represents all support staff employees at the College and plays an important role in maintaining the goals and integrity of the College in education and services to its students. In the past years, the Staff Council has sponsored annual community service projects that contributed to the Hawks’ Nest food pantry, veterans, and the John Dingell Veterans Hospital.

“All of these projects have been extremely successful and have given back much to the community,” said Wojtowicz, a lifelong Dearborn resident who’s worked at HFC since 1994.

The Staff Council oversees the yearly planting of the flowers on both the main and east campuses of HFC. Previously, the Staff Council was responsible for the installation of changing tables in campus restrooms, which was a great help to students and visitors with children.

“As chair, it is my duty to bring leadership to the Council and to move in new directions that benefit the College,” said Wojtowicz. “I have loved every minute of working at the College and feel very blessed to have had this opportunity to give back to our community.”
