Required policy training for all employees
From the Office of the President, to all HFC employees:
To remain compliant with the Higher Learning Commission’s criteria for accreditation (Criterion 2.A.*), to ensure all Board policies and procedures comply with current requirements, and to provide transparent information regarding the manner in which the College is operated, the Board of Trustees has undertaken a review of all Board policies and procedures. Existing policies and procedures may be found at policies.hfcc.edu.
To ensure that all College stakeholders are aware of and understand the updated policies, all HFC employees will need to complete a series of brief, online training modules. Each module should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. The first module will be launched in June 2018, followed by one module each month thereafter, until all are complete. The following policies will be included in this training series:
- 6800 Computer Systems Use Policy
- Conflicts of Interest, Nepotism and Outside Activities
- Drug and Alcohol Policy
- Employee Evaluations
- Equal Educational and Employment Opportunities and Non-Discrimination
- Non-Retaliation
- Social Media and Cell Phone Use
- Standards of Conduct and Civility
- Whistleblowers' Protection Policy
All employees will be informed via email when a new policy module has been assigned. For compliance reasons, it is critical that every employee completes all of the modules by the assigned due date. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Since the faculty contract does not include a summer semester, faculty timelines for completing the modules will be extended through the Winter 2019 semester. Some faculty may wish to complete one or more of the modules during the summer, but will not be asked to do so.
Additional information regarding access and use of the Learning Management System (Cornerstone) will be available by visiting the Human Resources link in the HFC portal, my.hfcc.edu (select "Talent Management Center").
Thank you for making Henry Ford College not only the First Choice, but the Best Choice for students, employees, and our community.
Criterion 2.A: The institution operates with integrity in its financial, academic, personnel, and auxiliary functions; it establishes and follows policies and processes for fair and ethical behavior on the part of its governing board, administration, faculty and staff.
