From President Kavalhuna: Why I Am Grateful for You
Dear Colleagues and Students,
As we gather on Thanksgiving with family and friends, or just take a break for a few days, it's a great time to reflect on the people in our lives who make us grateful.
I am grateful for you, my colleagues and HFC students. You have warmly welcomed my family and me into the Henry Ford College community these past six months. It is you -- my teammates -- who have helped me embrace my role during our listening tour and College gatherings. You have offered important, sometimes courageous advice and thoughts. I am grateful to serve with you to make Henry Ford College the First and Best Choice for every person who joins us.
I am grateful to be part of a community that values education as a public good, worthy of our best work. I am immensely proud of you, the public servants who deliver life-changing public education, and of you, the many dedicated students who give us the privilege to spend this time in your lives with you.
I am grateful for a loving and supportive family, and for the freedoms and opportunity that our democratic society provides.
Perhaps most importantly this Thanksgiving, I'm proud and thankful to be a Henry Ford Hawk, along with YOU.
Tell others what makes you grateful. In fact, write and tell me.
From my family to you and yours, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
