Release Date
Henry Ford College’s Renaissance Voices will perform at Christ Episcopal Church in Dearborn on Sunday, Dec. 18, for its “Festival of Lessons & Carols” Holiday Concert.

HFC's Renaissance Voices will perform “A Festival of Lessons & Carols” Holiday Concert on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, located at 120 N. Military St., in Dearborn.

Renaissance Voices is a choir comprised entirely of women. The members of Renaissance Voices perform the finest in treble choral literature in numerous styles and languages. To date, this ensemble has performed in four overseas concert tours and released three CDs.

“It’s always a pleasure to hear this talented ensemble of ladies perform. The music of the holidays always brings out the best in them, which is a pure joy to behold. Also, the audience can sing along on some of the carols, hymn-style. It’s a real cozy lead-in to the holidays,” said HFC Music Instructor G. Kevin Dewey.

HFC is home to one of the largest music programs with the most number of music ensembles of all two-year colleges in Michigan. The musicians in the HFC musical ensembles represent a cross-section of HFC’s student body. Music ensembles from HFC have regularly toured and performed at special events across the nation and in Europe.

In fact, the Big Band and Midnight Blue Vocal Jazz ensembles have performed at the inaugurations of both President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama. Additionally, HFC musicians have performed at the National Museum of American History for approximately 4,000 attendees.

Admission for the “Festival of Lessons & Carols” Holiday Concert is $10 for adults and $7 for senior citizens and students with a valid photo ID. For further information, contact Dewey at 313-845-6474 or kdewey@hfcc.edu. Also, visit www.hfcc.edu/music.
