Two new technology certificate programs now available

HFCC announces two new certificate programs in the Technology Division’s Skilled Trades and Apprenticeships Department: UG NX and SolidWorks. UG NX is a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. The usage of this resource continues to increase in the automotive and aircraft industries. This certificate program is eight credits across four classes, which enables designers, engineers and students with previous CAD experience to become proficient in this powerful, versatile design software. The classes will educate students with the most commonly used UG environments: sketcher, part design, drafting, assembly and surfacing. SolidWorks is a three-dimensional CAD solid modeling design software used by automotive tier I and tier II suppliers, appliance manufacturers, furniture manufactures, consumer products manufacturers and medical equipment manufacturers. This certificate program is six credits across three classes, which also enables designers, engineers and students with previous CAD experience to become proficient in this powerful, versatile design software. “What makes these certificate programs stand out is the level of instruction that students will receive. Students who enroll in the certificate programs, especially with a design background, can be productive immediately in a working environment. They can create models, views of models and assemblies. Once companies learn we’re offering a certificate program in UG NX and SolidWorks, they may send employees to the College for training and instruction,” said Roger R.
