Producer/director Anthony Brogdon will be available for a Q&A after the screening of his documentary, "The Great Detroit: It Was, It Is, It Will Be"

The HFC Council of World Cultures presents a screening of the documentary The Great Detroit: It Was, It Is, It Will Be, followed by a Q&A with producer and director Anthony Brogdon via Zoom on Tuesday, April 16, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.

The documentary aims to highlight why Detroit is such a great city. It chronicles the story of Detroit’s founding in 1701 and how it became a manufacturing powerhouse. It showcases the rich history of the city, including Motown, Eastern Market, Indian Village, the Basilica of Ste. Anne de Detroit, as well as museums, hospitals, colleges, and more through interviews with Detroiters.

A lifelong Detroiter, Brogdon is an alumnus of Cass Technical High School and Oakland University. He is the founder of Strong Productions and a historian who specializes in Black history. Brogdon is also the author of Black Business Book. A nationally recognized public speaker, he has spoken about the rise of Black business in America throughout the United States.
