Volunteer
HFC and Southeast Michigan provide many opportunities to volunteer during the year. Our annual MLK Day of Service, holiday drives for children and the disadvantaged, our Hawks' Nest food pantry, and social services organizations are just the start.

Stop by the Sisson Art Gallery to see inspiring student and professional artwork. The gallery, located in the Mackenzie Fine Arts Center, offers exhibitions for public viewing throughout the year.
Student Publications
The Mirror News is a 70-year campus tradition published by HFC students. The newspaper's readership extends throughout Metro Detroit.
Through Our Looking Glass is an annual student publication that carries original, creative projects (writing, illustration, photography, etc.).
WHFR Radio 89.3
WHFR 89.3 FM is HFC’s award-winning volunteer and student-staffed independent, non-commercial broadcast and Internet radio station. It provides a real-world media arts lab experience for students and features an “alternative variety” format not heard on other Detroit-area stations (New and independent label releases, local artist features, and overnight classical programming through American Public Media.)

Hawks' Nest
The Hawks' Nest food pantry provides supplemental food assistance to HFC students. We also accept donations to keep the Hawks' Nest food pantry stocked!
Student Outreach and Support
The Student Outreach and Support office assists with personal and career counseling, emergency funding, and provides various workshops to help you succeed.
Fitness Center
Take advantage of the HFC Fitness Center to enhance your health and fitness. The Fitness Center is on the main campus in the Athletic Memorial Building, and is free for all HFC students. Staff and faculty may also use the Fitness Center free of charge when it is not being used by Athletics. Obtain keycard access by visiting Campus Safety.
Gateway Trail
Take a walk down the Rouge River Gateway Trail and enjoy the beauty of nature! The trail offers plenty of woodland scenery and runs for two miles across the UofM-Dearborn and HFC campuses, crossing the Rouge River twice along the way. Kingfisher Bluff is a beautiful waypoint on the trail, on the west side of campus.

The Skylight Café offers a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a snack between classes.
Fifty-One O One Restaurant
The Fifty-One O One Restaurant is a full-service dining establishment operated by the students and staff of the HFC Culinary Arts program. The menu includes appetizers, specialty salads and sandwiches, entreés from around the world and a wide selection of desserts. Menu changes weekly; Halal options are available. Credit cards accepted.
Culinary Wellness Cafe
The Culinary Wellness Cafe is a lunch stand inside the Skylight Cafe in the Student Center (to your left as you enter the cafe) that offers freshly prepared lunches to go, during the Fall and Winter semesters. Menu changes weekly; Halal options are available. Credit cards accepted.
